Chimneys and flue systems do not last forever. They don't always perform how they should and can throw up problems unexpectedly. Sometimes, they just weren't designed and installed very well to begin with. Whatever the problem, we carry the experience, technical knowledge and equipment to quickly diagnose the problem.
Quite often, we'll have a very good idea of what the problem may be by conversation, once we have defined the symptoms. Or, at least, we will have narrowed down the cause of the problem. In any event, we'll likely suggest that a site survey is conducted to enable us to have all of the information required to make a more detailed assessment.
Not only will our assessments be visual, we will also carry out any flue performance calculations, specific to the setup at each individual project, as a check to satisfy ourselves that there are no issues with flue performance that might not be visible at the time.
Where it is not possible to gain all required information via a visual survey, a CCTV camera survey may be advised to look at the internals of the flue system or chimney.
Vulcan Flues Systems use state-of-the-art CCTV camera equipment on flue projects of all sizes, from residential houses to large commercial properties. A small-scale camera with LED lighting is mounted on a flexible cable with 360° rotation and tilt and fed through the chimney to allow for a full coloured view of every detail within the flue. Following a survey, Vulcan provides a full detailed report of findings alongside recommendations to remedy issues and costings for remedial works. Where a CCTV survey is required we are able to supply a video copy of the CCTV footage to accompany any report.
